Since I follow many photographers on FB my feed was peppered with posts this morning of photographers who are donating a free family session in honor of Olivia, one of the victims of the Newton tragedy. Her family had gotten family photos taken not long before the tragedy and I'm sure values those photos all the more. One photographer who heard this started The Olivia Act Facebook page and a challenge for other photographers to donate a session to a well-deserving family. This spoke to me as I would like to do something small to help.
I know since last Friday we have all said many prayers for the families in Newton and also prayers thanking God for our own families. We've been reminded of what's most important in this life--our family. I would love to do my part and take photos of a well-deserving family so they can have something they can hold and look at to remind them of their most valued relationships.
If you know of a family who has lacked the time or means to get professional photos and would like to nominate them, please email me at tiffanyharston@gmail.com. Please include their name and contact information and a brief summary of why you thought of them. The deadline for nominating is December 28th. The winning family will get a 30-minute session sometime in January and a CD of edited photos.
